I draw this inspired by official T-shirts design for Super Mario Run launch event. Show this tweetIt's seem Mario is dressed as Yukimura Sanada is historical general in Japan.
Then, I thought Bowser should be dressed as Ieyasu Tokugawa is Yukimura's rival.
In the history, General Ieyasu had won the decisive battle.
I hope that Bowser will defeat Mario too in the next, Super Mario Odyssey!!

If you want Bowser to win, just fling Mario off a cliff when you play Odyssey. Get a Game Over, and then never touch the game again.
Not quite as fun though...
Anyway, this is a really great picture. But I can't help but think the Eagle looks a tad out of place. Looks a bit too realistic.
Love the concept though.

Technically you can make Bowser defeat Mario in Super Mario Odyssey... Just keep dying and don't beat the game.
Although I didn't even know Mario's samurai outfit was a specific person. I still don't know much about the historical context but dressing Bowser as his rival is clever.
