Some cool references I got from inspired a little co-op, here's the first product as a warm up. It was modeled after a pose from the sword cosplay pictures, and I wanted to try a cliff set I had, too.I had the Scáthach character from Celtic myth in mind, but don't take it deadly serious, it's more of some fun with a lot of red in it
There's some more to come!

Irgendwie musste ich jetzt an Conan denken, nur etwas rotstichiger. In Klein geht die Axt etwas unter, im Vollbild wirkt es dann aber besser, durch die schönen Lichtreflexe auf ihr.

Ich hatte das und noch einige andere schon vor einiger Zeit gemacht, bin da aber an den anderen noch dran. Ich hab lange mit dem Framing und Licht rumgetüddelt, und wollte wieder zuviel gleichzeitig von allen Wellten

Actually I did a couple of pictures on the original Red Sonja, and it's a very interesting setting (Turkish-Austrian wars) but I'm overflowing with projects as it is 
Anyway, Red Sonya and Conan are kind of the 'Jorneymans Piece' for any fantasy artist, so I'll probably give it a try someday

The original R.E.Howard story from which the character stems is actually about a character from that war. Only later she was transferred to 'Red Sonya' probably because Howard was the 'Conan' guy.

really ? I wish to know more about it ...As I remember Red Sonya was only epizoic character in Connan series - she appear few times in few novels.. She is rather famous cos the movie than Howard literature ...

This is so incredibly dramatic! The rich reds gives it a nice unearthly feel which suits the scene perfectly! She's a great character alright!

I do love that hair, too. It's one of the few long hair sets that (except the dForce ones) do not cling to the neck and shoulders and has a cool wind flow. Unfortunately it's not doing as well with 'realistic' pictures.
