Description Since first explorers got to this system, astrophysicists wonder what scratched the surface of this little moon orbiting ringed gas giant. Once they even came up with the idea of big space monster which lay eggs inside the planets and when little monsters hatch, they break through the surface leaving deep scars.

Again, entirely painted with round brush, no textures used.
Photoshop, Wacom tablet and a few cups of coffee.

Inspired by Cassini's photos of Saturn system.

Many thanks to for his critique Yeah, this time you've got icon dude xD

EDIT: Thanks to =hoevelkamp for suggesting it for a DD and thanks for ^gucken for featuring it

I like the colours or the rings, Saturn is one of my favorite planets.
I also like the little moon above the rings. Did you really make it? I screw up editing real images (sad, huh).
Is It Dione? Sorry If I screwed everything by being a dork, just asking.
Thanks!

I really likes the fact that you dont see the big planet and just the shadow of it. It makes the piece a little big mysterious

ok fisrt off.

guys! guys! guys and gals!

shut up about the ring! or did you not bother to read the discription? gas gient. saturn like.

moon!

guess what. saturn and other gas gients have rings and the rings add tothe picture! with out them it would be a little empty i feel.

aaaanyhoooo that my mini rant over.

i really like this. and that is a verry cool skar. i dont know why but i like the thought of a big ship haing scraped against it then haveing had its course changed the ship wnet hurtleing into the core of the gas gient never to be seen again.

great picture. stick to your guns keep the rings they are grovey

I'm a sucker for painted space art. Instant favourite, I haven't seen many distant shots of "broken" planets. The ring though? Well, it looks more like a large disc, and doesn't have the kind of gaseous, or nebulous feel that we might expect from a planet ring. It looks cool though!
