I've been given feedback countless times and I'm grateful. But not to long ago some people think I just "copy" from others and I just reference. I've been having doubts lately...

Yeah, I went to your profile and saw that people have given you some great feedback. I think it's all fine and dandy to draw other characters, I think that is what all great artists have done first, some continuing to doing so since each artist have their own stuff they like, but I think there is one thing that connects: most start to study principles; anatomy, perspective, color theory and all that somewhat boring stuff haha. But I can't stress enough how important those are, even with animation (anatomy and perspective), makes things way easier. I suggest you keep drawing if you like it! ^^

It was Youtube video where one speaks about his way of being effective with learning, I think it might be helpful for you since you want to learn, just search "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Artists" it's the first video that shows up ^^
