I was born with the wrong sign,
in the wrong house,
with the wrong ascendancy.
I took the wrong road,
that led to the wrong tendencies.
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time,
for the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme.
On the wrong day of the wrong week,
I used the wrong method,
with the wrong technique.

I am mostly stuck in commercial work and there is so little time for personal work... somehow it steals you a creative freedom when you do it as a professional

When you do it as a professional you are trying to please everyone, and that's almost impossible to do. When you do personal work you are only trying to please yourself. I'm by no means a professional - I'm a guy who owns a camera! I'm also my own harshest critic, but I know what I like. Most people don't know how to tell you what they like. They are very good at telling you what they don't like, though... I also think the current generation has no idea what a real photograph looks like. With all the resources available to photographers, pictures have transcended from capturing works of art to becoming works of art. if you don't like what you see you can change it to suit your needs. I'm in awe of some of the graphic creations I've seen, but I still get a bigger rush when I see something come straight out of the camera that has captured a moment. I started getting seriously interested in photography when I was taking pictures of my son playing soccer. just like many other things in life, timing and luck can make up for a general lack of skill. Having played sports I had a pretty good sense of the timing, so all I needed to do was get lucky every once in a while to get a really good photo. I enjoy seeing your work. The thought process required to achieve your results is mind boggling to someone like me whose results are rarely ever planned. I finally invested a little in my pursuit of photographic bliss by purchasing a full frame camera. The difference is night and day. I have plans to go back to some of my favorite photo locations and retake the same picture with the full frame camera, but I also think been there - done that - move on is a better way to go. I'm sorry. I did not mean to ramble quite so much... one question: Has anyone ever said to you "that's a great picture! you must have a really good camera!"? I was so mad when someone said that to me!! I told him that's like saying to a chef "great meal - you must have a really good stove"...Β
