I always prefer shots that hint at a story behind them. I look at this and wonder what the girl in the picture is thinking - what's brought her to this place, what turn is her life about to take? (I mean I know it's a self-portrait, but it still makes me think these things). Lovely.

It was about the love she had for another girl, and whether she dared defy her family to be with her - but next to the grandeur of this place, society's objections seemed to very small, so she chose love.
