Description
私の夢を明るく (”watashinoyume o akaruku”). Translated, it means “Light up my dreams”.This is the final painting I did at the Imaginism Workshop. T (Thierry LaFontaine) let us choose any theme we wanted. I wanted something meaningful, surreal and Ghibli-inspired. Needless to say, I had a blast painting this one, SOOO much FUN! Even though the background frustrated me a little bit (I had to redo it 4 times before I could come up with something I liked heheh).
I painted the characters while I was at the workshop, the rest of it I painted at home

This painting is dedicated to those afraid of having hopes and dreams. Don’t let fear take over - just light up one tiny piece of hope at a time. Little by little. Don’t ever give up

I know this is bad, but not many pieces of art actually make me stop and think. The night setting of this especially makes my mind wonder to my own personal utopia. I like the Japanese flair and the animal she's riding. I love it when artists create a new species and what they mix in just works so well! I love all the details, the little tiny specks of lights of faraway lanterns, the mountains and the trail of lanterns. This is remarkably beautiful!
