Absolutely love it! 
I like how you got some of the warm sweetness that many real life gorillas have in their faces into him, but still staying true to how the original makeups looked! I don't know if that was intentional, but it's freaking great haha

He's based on Marcus from the first movie
The gorillas didn't look as sinister in that one , more kind of rounded looking , compared to Battle for the planet and the tv series
I repainted the same character much more recently for a very large { they are life sized} painting

Yeah, the gorillas did tend to look more fierce and aggressive as the series went on.
