ZBrushed, Keyshot and Photoshopped.This has been a pending project for almost a year now and I'm glad to find the time to work on it.
This is inspired and heavily based on the design by Jeremy Robinson and Matt Frank with some tweaks. I studied a lot of insects, arachnids and crustaceans for this design. At the end of the designing process, I decided that the end-feel would be like a cross between a scorpion and an alligator.
It's really an interesting character/creature/kaiju, and I think this one deserves a movie.

I'm pretty sure Jeremy Robinson (the writer of the Novel series she comes from) would prefer she stays her own Kaiju, and the the Monsterverse doesn't steal her design for a character she doesn't even remotely resemble all that much.
Seriously Orga is a hulking brutish monster whom assimilates DNA while Nemesis is a lean and agile beast with a tragic backstory. There is literally no connection I can see between the two.

If you changed the head just a little bit, this would be the perfect design for Zilla in the MonsterVerse.
Of course, there are only two possible ways for Zilla to appear in the MonsterVerse.
Option 01: Legendary Pictures must make the events of the 1998 movie canon within the MonsterVerse. (I would love to see Ford Brody encounter Niko Tatopoulos)
If you watch the intros of Godzilla (1998) and Godzilla (2014) , you'll notice some striking similarities including the usage of the same military stock footage.
That makes the possibility that the two movies happened within the same timeframe of each other very likely.
In addition, the two movies conveniently take place on major American cities that are on the coastline. (Atlantic Ocean, New York City for 1998 and Pacific Ocean, San Francisco for 2014)
Option 02: Have Zilla be a manmade weapon of Project Monarch in which he is a marine iguana spliced with the DNA of Godzilla.
Most people hate on Zilla because he's "not Godzilla" and this would be a great way to shut them up by making that statement obvious.
He's not Godzilla because he's a manmade Anti-Godzilla weapon that just happens to look like Godzilla. (Your image fits this idea perfectly)
Of course, the only problem with this idea is that America likes to outclass its competitors and if Godzilla is their competition, they would make Zilla be able to defeat Godzilla.
It would either work brilliantly or further split the fanbase apart since there are a lot of people that still hate Zilla with a passion.
Either way, Zilla would be more than a challenge against Godzilla since he would be about the same size as the Male MUTO .
If the Legendary Godzilla is a "grumpy old man", then the Legendary Zilla should be a badass punk.
