Re: anti-digital signature?
I'm not anti-digital. I respect the technology. But I have devoted myself to film/darkroom and I tag my work as digital free because most people automatically assume digital They have no idea of the possibilities of darkroom, they either never learned it or have forgotten. And I want them to know.
Darkroom made everything else possible, and it deserves to be respected and remembered.

Let me begin by saying that I think your work is wonderful no matter how you produced it - I ordered one of your books
On the other question though, aren't there many things which made other things possible which we also don't use any more? I have never made an albumen or salted paper print - how about you? (don't say yes - I'll be jealous ) Back in the day I was briefly a member of a camera club just so I could use their darkroom. You know what people moaned about back then? excessive darkroom techniques! All the rants you might read about photoshop and its kin today are just a repeat of those darkroom moans of old. People didn't celebrate darkroom technique - they bitched endlessly about it in snobbish cliques.
Anyway, I guess my last journal explains why I made the comment - rather than reproduce the whole thing here you are welcome to read it if you have the time and/or inclination

Thank you for buying the books, I'm very pleased with them.
There are many things past which can be re-discovered and I have made non-silver prints. When I started to learn film was the only game in town, the technology has been changing so quickly.
There is a pleasure for me in working with your hands, like making mudpies, and there are effects that are unique to darkroom.
I believe as long as you make something, and make it with dedication, the means do not much matter.
But I'll stay with my first love.

mudpies?
Of course I'm not suggesting for a moment you (or anyone else) work any other way. And I accept your reasoning on your "no digital" banner. I suppose what I was really reacting to was attitudes that some other people display, which was not your fault, so sorry about that. I do wonder whether it might be better to expres it positively (that all work is produced using medium/large format analog), but I only wonder. It will be a few months before digital can cover large format resolution
Anyway, long may you keep working, and producing such high quality. I would love to see one of the final prints in its full glory, but I think my purse won't stretch to it, so I'll have a book for the moment

I did think about the banner and how it might be interpreted but any information is useful.
I'm glad you have the book, which one did you get by the way?

"the madness is the method," although I don't think it has shipped yet. It says something like "in process" or similar.

I do collect things, sometimes years in advance, with the thought of making pictures.
