I deisigned this then built this in Lightwave 7.5. This is my 3rd model I've done.Click here to view the concept art.

It was my third serious model. It was my last project at my first course. I spent 4 weeks learning 3D in lightwave7.5 then had two 2 week modeling assignments. Then about 7 months later with almost no more modeling just animation and web stuff i then designed and modeled this guy.

Yeah I designed a sword for him but didn't have time to model it for the assignment, and haven't realy gottin around to doing it. I'll probaly add a shield but I was thinking of just giving him a huge 2-handed sword instead. As for texturing it will take me a while as I don't have to much spare time to put into it, and I've still got to UV map him and that wil take a while as he's quite high poly.

To make him more heroic. To also add to this effect I rendered him from a slightly lower camera angle.

YAY!!!!!!!!! lightwave is awesome, the modeling is great man. Just one suggestion though, the armor plating looks quite thin. maybe thicken it up a little.

3rd model ?!?! Thats incredible. I've been modeling for a couple years, had countless models but never anything anywhere near this intricate and well done. Fantastic work!

I mainly like how you got the lighting! how did you acfhieve the nice shadows and bloom?

It's basicly a sraight render, but I took it into photoshop duplicated the layer, just adjusted the levels a bit, then I blured it a bit and set it to screen to add a bloom effect.
