oh that's awesome ! I like so much the use of fluidity within the usual straigh shapes of each building elements... and the gorgous combination of colors

The thing I like most about this piece, probably one of my favorites of yours as I look through your gallery. Is the "Illustration" factor that you show here. I can see a story evolving in this painting I love how you can paint loosely yet see everything perfectly!

This is a very lively painting - and I think that works like this are better than photos to save the old sceneries for the eyes of the future generations.

Great mood. I love the colors. I'm not sure about the perspective, though. It seems like the figures in the back should be a bit smaller comparing to the man in the front...

Dear Phyllis, thank you for you comment You put in your journal an invitation to show where we live... This picture is dedicated a a part of my town, Milano , that is now disappearing. What lovely detailing on the windows & shutters. Love the colors you used overall & the motion in this picture...you can practically see that young man's swagger.

Thank you Gloria to appreciate also the details As you know the shutters are typical tradition of the
sunny southern countries.

You're welcome Alberta.
I was browsing through the Tranditional painting section of dA submissions & this painting just stuck out over everything else on the page.
There is an Irish painter that shows great movement of people in all his paintings that the young man you painted reminded me of...my brain is not functioning so I can't remember his name at the moment....It could be Jack Butler Yeats.

Gloria, I looked, on internet, at Jack Butler Yeat pictures and I have to say that If some particular of my watercolor remind you this great artist, I feel praised... In effect I also use some strong stroke and small figures but..... he was a master of a branch of the espressionism and I am... only
a DA amateur. Your coming back to my picture is a pleasure and your comment makes me so happy.
Thank you, dear Gloria

Just remember they were all amatuers at one time...
Yes, It was either one of his paintings (or Paul Henry's) I was thinking of...both amazing Irish landscape artists who managed to put such emotion into the people they rendered (even if you couldn't see their facial expressions you seemed to know what they were feeling). Yes, your young man brought back memories of these artists....I love his swagger (hip movemovement- like a bounce to a happy step).
