Description
Astral Origin - A time before death of a star. A time before the black hole starts to fail in gravity. Time after nova. The new beginning, the new birth, the birth of a new live - Astral Origin.This is inspired by cosmic retribution , by ~nisht which I think is one of the best looking galaxies out here, hands down! Big cred to you man, chers!
This is one further step away from my regular style. I felt I had to try get some action going and try keep down my vivid and ambient look for once (I'll get back to it tho, count on it, it's not even near perfection yet!) and go for some more grungy-lookin effect.
Created in CS3. Wacom- Volito2 + Canon 400D textures.

(the 1920x1200 and 1440x900 has different typo placement due to widescreen. This of course looks best in widescreen due to bonus inches

Looks like the nebula almost has got craters in some places (you used some ground texture or something grungy perhaps?), but it looks awesome.

It was a finishing touch actually, I wasn't happy with the way it turned out since I wanted it to be a bit more hard and rough. By adding that texture I reached what I wanted to create so YES there's a texture blended in there on the nebula

The grungy effect really works out, but I just miss the vivid lighting. Looks great, dude !

I had different lightning on this at first but it didn't suite the style of the piece in wholeness so I let it off. Don't you worry, many things in progress, we'll have time for mor vividness ^^.
My next sub will be really fun in different ways. It's a sci-fi with a twist of FUNK
