Description
River Taw Dartmoor. 7in x 9in oil pastel and acrylic. Landscape "drawn" first on textured watercolour paper. Then sky painted wet in wet with dilute acrylic. Shadows in the landscape applied a little stronger. When dry I used a penknife to apply scraffito texture, exposing pastel colours from previous layering.

Thanks for the kind comment - you might like to know I live near a church with a rare tower structure called a "Saxon Helm" - The tower is square section with four "diamond leaves" each with a point on each tower corner up to the apex. It's over 1000 years old and quite beautiful.

Seriously - thankyou. As for the colour - I must have drunk too much scrumpy when I was younger and maybe I do see the world more vividly!

I am SO pleased you like this. If you put me in a room and said "create what does it for you" - it would be this and seascapes both in paint and ceramic versions.
I still have an 8foot x 4foot ceramic Raku panel of a Dartmoor landscape that was a degree show piece. My deviation "And You And I" was also in that show many moons ago.
The technique satisfies my pyromania!
Marcus.
