Well I don't know what to say... The head has to be kinda round and big but not too much, and the body, while smaller, must stay proportionate? Also small feet and small hands.

Yeah.... I just can't get the shape of the head and the proportions of the eyes, nose, mouth, etc., right, and it bothers me. Then I see stuff like this of the wonderful FMA (and other anime) characters, and I get so ridiculously jealous I wanna cry.

Well before drawing chibis, it's better to know how everything works with realistic proportions. :3 After that it's just stylisation...

That's a good point. The chibis I've seen though always have ridiculously large eyes, like in anime/manga. I can draw people realistically, in an anime/manga way, and I have my own style... but my goodness, I NEVER like my chibis. Never. D:
