Description EDIT: I have read some of the stories about this strange African god who has the form of a spider with some anthropomorphic features. And I imagined him as this version of my drawing...

"The African trickster spider. He is famous for bringing stories to the world and spreading a little wisdom to everyone, although he hoarded it all for himself. Lazy, gluttonous, greedy, and both foolish and clever, Anansi is the star of a versatile mythos." - Joe

Another iconic addition to the Cthulhu mythos by CAS; The spider god. Not much is know about it apart from the fact that it is man-sized, very swift and constantly spreading his webs above some great abyss. Apparently when his web is finished the world will end.

"The dark form ran toward him with incredible swiftness. When it came near he saw that there was a kind of face on the squat ebon body, low down amid the several-jointed legs. The face peered up with a weird expression of doubt and inquiry; and terror crawled through the veins of the bold huntsman as he met the small, crafty eyes that were circled about with hair."

Wow, I like how twisted this is. It reminds me of the book version of Coraline. Also, reminds me of Tim Burton style and Gris Grimly's art.Β

Screw the flamethrower! BFG-9,000 TIME! This thing is tried & true against the likes of the legions of hell, so it’s unlikely that the legions of the cosmos can withstand it!

Naah, I think legions of Hell are way inferior to the Ultimate Gods, they are more akin to evil mirror of Earths gods.

The spider-god did not, however, wish to spend any time in peeling the armor off the huntsman so as to eat him, but put a geas on him to go on further. He did, however, suggested that he test the tensile strength of the web by walking over it to his next encounter. That was the FIRST time he had to walk that web-bridge.

One of my absolute favorites. The creature and the story. I imagined it a little more child-like and anthropomorphic in its features. Some have noted the story for being simplistic in plot for an Ashton piece, but I think all CAS fans love this one as a creature feature. It's totally packed with ever weirder levels of monsters. My Spider Criminals pics are based off this fellow. Abhoth is my true fave from this story because it's like a liquid imagination. Great rendition though.

Based on his dialogue with protagonist it would rather seem his obsession rather than something he's forced to. He seems to genuinely care about it.
