Description
Yelling Theatre! in a Crowded FireIt's been two years since the band MUTAYTOR put out a new CD
Last Sunday was the listening party where Buck and Atom trotted out the new mix for the band and friends to listen to
On the last two tracks a very tired artist who was leaving for Pittsburgh in just a few hours and still hadn't packed came out and created the cover live
This is it
The idea to do it this way was struck less than a week before and in the creation, it pushed me deeper than I had gone in both time and technique. Every image (there are seven composited in) where shot on Polaroid 55 film in a bellows camera older than me by many years
I built the panel in 2 days and the final gluing of the images was completed about 8AM the day of the performance. I left for the airport about 3 hours later...
I am quite proud of this one...and of them. It's their best CD to date.

created in performance at SMASHlabs, Los Angeles - December 16th

Wow! Great photography! The atmosphere reminded me strongly of Joel-Peter Witkin. I absolutely adore the colours and the lighting.

Very strange, it has a strong tone of surrealism about it, perhaps due to ambient, colours and the front row of what seem to be nothing but silent observers.

I love the feel to this, it's incredible- old, whimsical, and she looks like she is being whisked away (and doesn't mind a bit). Well done.

Wow - beautiful. Wish I could somehow experience the actual size and the performance part on here - even the videos you have posted other places can't be the same as live.
I hope you slept on the plane?

Thanks so much....I'll post a video of it soon. The live work is special for to me. I make sure that I do some on a regular basis.
And I did....it usually all I do on planes...

The video will be interesting, but still can't be near the experience of live. My brother is trying to get me out that way, but it's very expensive from here. I don't get to sleep on planes anymore for more than a power nap because of the connections necessary, so I sort of envy those that can.
