Description
Hooray for saving iterations in the right places!
So this one started off a little wonky; I'd intended to go more stylized with it initially, but I found that just wasn't working for what I wanted, so it gradually moved towards just being a more realistic take on a lion. I used a bunch of different brushes at various stages for this, and my trusty blender from Kyle's brushpacks. Reference used was my own!
Toward the very end, I applied a quick layer adjustment (levels) because it was feeling slightly washed out!

It's fascinating to see the different stages. If you didn't see them you'd truly think this was magic.

What kind of brushes do you use for this type of stuff? I always seem to choose brushes with too much or too little texture.

Hey! Here's the main pack I used for this, (outside of Kyle's brushes, which are available on Creative Cloud): Brushes

The final product, in itself, is amazing, but what makes me appreciate it even more, is seeing a glimpse of the process put into making it. Awesome work, a real high-standard piece. Β Β

Yep! I actually merge them down pretty quickly. I also lower the opacity beforehand!
