Description Found these little gumballs of pink fungus - smaller than pea sized - while out hunting wild orchid... anyone know what they are?

Such a good point! I'm glad when my daughter was growing up we lived in a fairly dry environment - very few fungus to attract.

Yes for they are beautiful, but can be deadly.  Even a friend of mine a biologist made a mistake once and was very sick.  I myself am afraid to use any mushroom from the wild.

Fungus and Friends has a specific folder for slimemolds. Wolf's milk was the first one I discovered.

I don't think Cait and I have ever seen them before - I'm hearing they're a slime mold... don't fit my preconception of either slime OR mold
