Description
Even now, as she encountered a rough bit, she dabbed at the grain of his face and it aligned under her tingling touch.'You loved him, didn't you?'
"Of course I did. Now stop asking about it."
Sometimes, when she worked on his face, he could feel her affection for the countenance she carved. His face was beardless now, and youthful. It was more in keeping with his voice and with whom he felt himself to be, and yet it made him squirmingly curious to know he wore the face of someone Amber loved. She would not speak of him but sometimes in the brushing of her fingertips, he glimpsed the man she saw in her mind.
Final version of this, the sketch from [link] this image. I wanted to paint it all up because I love the scene so much.
From Robin Hobb's Ship of Destiny, Amber and Fitzface!Paragon. Yeah I guess it's kind of a spoiler if you haven't read the Liveship books yet. Oh well, if you haven't read the books at all this probably is even more confusing
For those of you that don't know this much, Paragon is a Liveship, so yes he's alive, can move, steer himself, etc. Amber is... well... you'll just have to read all of the Realm of the Elderling books to understand her, she's far too complex and awesome for words.
DISCLAIMER: I know butts about ships and drawing them.
Haven't uploaded in awhile. I've been working on this off and on for like.. two months, and decide fuck it, it's done now. I've barely done any art at all over the summer, it's been really, really shitty. I miss drawing, but I just can't arse myself to do it.
Photoshoop and openCanvas 4 over a pencil drawing from May.

this is lovely, a scene I've wanted to draw for ages. I love what you've done with the swirly wood - it really does seem magic and alive.

That wizardwood sure is pretty. You've got a great technique for the coloring too. I was fooled for an instant, thinking it was done by watercolor. XD

first question: how did you get to be so awesome?
correction, only question.
anyway, seriously, this is fantastic. I love how Paragon is clearly a person made of wood, not just a head stuck on a ship. What I mean to say is that he flows very well, his position and the composition in general are very well thought-out. I love his expression too, it's very fitting. Paragon knows he is becoming someone different (which is all he ever really wanted). super fav time.

I commented on your art on F&F, but now I want to comment on your well-being, and say FUCK I feel the same lately. What is this summer doing to people? Come July, come artist's block.
Know you're not alone.
And know that the malady you're suffering has affected your quality not at all - only your quantity.

I had been wondering of your absence, having just found your RotE art a few days ago.. D: glad to see this, immensely so. This piece particularly is wonderful, the colors pull this together and make it seem like something out of a dream. I really love the way you portray the Fool in all his lives. You have captured him so well~
I hope you get past your art block, because you really have some wonderful abilities and it's awful to be frustrated about it.

The overall picture is breathtaking to me. I could stare at it for hours, no joke. I love the vivid colors. Its like looking at colors in the Caribbean. What I love the best are the tiniest of details in this like the stags on the straps on Fitz' chest and the flower detail on Amber's tunic and of course the wood grain. God woman I could envy you for your eye in detail!
Long story short, love the picture, foaming at the mouth on the detail and its a definite fave!

I have always loved you style, very uniquely "you". I could pick it out of a large group of work. Nice detail on the figurehead with all of the swirly muscles. I have not read these.
So glad to see you posting again. I have missed you and your work, you need to give me an update on if you graduated, what you are doing, etc.
