In today's warmup object study, I'm practicing owning my imperfections. That Portland-ish, coffee-shop art-style lends itself to this practice very well. Drawn without erasing — and man, that bottom curve really lets it show!

I'm not the best artist, but my personal art history tells me that I've let that fact keep me from creating anything at all, which has kept me from practicing, which has preserved me as not the best artist. A self-fulfilling prophesy! The saints say that this is true in spiritual endeavors, which naturally expands to anything that needs practice, experience, and devotion, like artistic mastery. You just have to keep going. Those who endure to the end will be saved (from their bad art?).

So here's my not-that-great cup of tea, created in hope of improvement.
