Ever since I saw what it looks like in Don’t Starve Together when Charlie (the darkness, AKA the Grue) attacks you, I had this image in my mind. It’s scary enough to think that the darkness can kill you, but the fact that it looks like Charlie is attacking the character from the inside out is just down right chilling.Related content

I heard that Maxwell has a sort-of girlfriend named Charlie, who works with him as her lady assistant in his magic show. But Maxwell misused his shadow magic and the shadow hands whisked them both. Now, Maxwell in his Nightmare throne and they say that Charlie became the Night monster AKA the Grue... Do you guys believe in this too?

Maxwell was once a decent human being too; he's just the psychopath he is now because he's been bound to the Nightmare Throne for 20 years listening to the creepy music. *shudders* He's cruel, but he does feel sorry for what he's done to Charlie. A few of his quotes support this, like when he examines the Codex Umbra. This balance between insanity and blaming himself for other's pain is why he's one of my favorite characters, in a character sense. I have yet to unlock him... Wa

And yes, that is absolutely horrifying (it should get a mention on the Nightmare Fuel tab over on TV Tropes), and you've done a great job of capturing that terror and pain here.

Well, the term Grue predates graphical games since it originated in the old Zork games. And since they would eat you if you didn't have a light in a dark place...well, this is actually kind of apt even for those grues.
