Originally Lara's making fun of Dany because of her constant apetite.
But some here pointed out that it could be because of her sacrilege
(for Newyorkers) by not eating her pizza with her fingers. I love that last suggestion
(even if Lara is not supposed to be coming from NYC)

Eating Pizza with a fork is an insult to the cook...
Or so I was always told

Somehow - from the light and the mood - this reminds me of the Cote d'Azur; Saint-Tropez, Le Lavandou, Saint-Raphael - these kind of locations...

WOW! That's an awesome night scene. Bet that was hard to pull off, but it looks like it worked pretty well. Was this a single render or a few+ layers?
π: 0 β©: 1
JohnFitzSquirrel In reply to faliblefox [2019-01-28 10:07:08 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much !
And you guessed right : few renders + layers
There were too much characters with Wolfie (his fur counts a lot of polygon) plus fog and many emissive lights.
It was too much for Daz and it crashed. So I had to make a composite.

"Queen for one day, queen forever"

Have to say JFS you have done it again, the way you manage to light scenes and fill them but without making them overcrowded, at a quick glance it just looks like a photo of a Romantic evening, hope Wolfie isn't the designated driver tonight

Hellz ya. I'm always amazed at how you can put so much in a scene and have it all visible yet natural looking. You are a master at lighting. In maybe ten years I will do lighting this well.
π: 0 β©: 1
JohnFitzSquirrel In reply to luqu [2019-01-24 13:27:26 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much I really appreciate
But for the lighting, I have to admit that I use photoshop in postwork to set (or correct) luminosity and contrast,
what can also be done with Gimp.
(the original render from this scene was very dark)

luqu In reply to JohnFitzSquirrel [2019-01-24 17:06:18 +0000 UTC]
Oh. I get ya. Ya. I find that I have to do that too. I end up in PhotoShop cutting out a copy of a character or object so I can adjust the levels and contrasts and stuff. Like in this scene, I had to cut out and adjust Ellis, and do some other adjustments to the background to get Ellis to visually pop out.

JohnFitzSquirrel In reply to luqu [2019-01-24 22:18:39 +0000 UTC]
That's exactly the kind of trick I use too
So, it won't take you 10 years to do the same as me
Another trick I use is to put a ghost light with a primitive (a plan or sphere) in the scene,
for instance near a character. With an opacity setted to something like 0,0000001
it will be invisible in the render but it will provide a source light
π: 0 β©: 1
luqu In reply to JohnFitzSquirrel [2019-01-25 10:43:39 +0000 UTC]
Right on. Only 5 years then.
It occurs to me: doesn't the Daz "point light" do the same thing? I mean isn't it an invisible source of light?
And thanks for favorizing some of my pictures again, John.

JohnFitzSquirrel In reply to luqu [2019-01-25 21:06:28 +0000 UTC]
Yes you're right but the difference is that
the shadows aren't as sharped than with a point light
And you're welcome !
(thank you for the same reason btw )

What a romantic scene. I love this atmosphere. But beer for Wolfie? That shouldn't be done. I see him running around with Lara's "toys" again *giggles* .... Somehow the two ladies who walks hand in hand remind me of certain people I should know, don't they?
π: 0 β©: 1
JohnFitzSquirrel In reply to TawnyT [2019-01-24 13:20:20 +0000 UTC]
Haha
Yes indeed, this could turn into a long night with a drunk Wolfie!
Otherwise any resemblance to actual persons is purely coincidental (or not )
Many Thanks !

Ooohhh, merci! On est forcΓ©ment en Europe non? Parce que la mangeuse de pizza, uh...
J'adorerai nous voir toutes les deux de plus près.
Darling .. It's so sweet of you to take me to dinner without any chains on (I mean, the nip clamps underneath my blouse can't be considered as chains can they?) You've told me many times about this JFS guy, but I had no idea he ran a pizza joint. One question though: Is the pizza glutenfree?
