It was something that looked like aΒ Mack U607 with a twin 40mm Bofors on the flat bed.

This is still one of my favorites out of your work, "On Charnel Winds" is next on that list.
It's "Dervulf" by the way.

Nice! Half tracks are a wonder of engineering!

American M-3 Half Track? I think so.

Half-tracks are fascinating. Every major army had a half-track in world war 2. But they were everywhere for five years and disappeared forever.

Will we see some tanks to accompany it?

The Razorback reminds me of those Wurfrahm launcher bearing German halftrucks (they quit being a "halftrack" after a certain weight-to-ordinance ratio was reached). Yet I see a bit of the early war AT-gun thrown in the mix; that cannon screams "yankee 75mm AT gun". You've essentially thrown together some of the best elements of allied & axis medium grade armored vehicles into one machine, which is quite achievement I tell ye'.Β
So in summary of my aforementioned ramblings; well done, please continue to delve into post-apocalyptic dieselpunk artistry, for it is quite a marvelous steel-clad sight to behold.

this looks very cool... exept for the big cannon, it doesn't seem to fit in somehow...

It might seem overly militaristic for a general-purpose vehicle. I'd considered usingΒ a short-barrelled gun or a couple of AA autocannons, but it's on to the next project now.

The only disadvantage (that the actual Halftrack had, I should mention) is the tendency for the front wheels to lift off on rough terrain and make steering a bitch.

More advanced halftracks combined normal steering for gradual turns with differential track braking for sharp ones, making this a bit easier, but full tracks are usually better offroad. We haven't seen many halftracks since tank suspension has improved.
I'm thinking of making a clearer distinction between my more advanced vehicle concepts (eg. Fireshark, Hecate) and more retro/throwback ones (eg. Razorback, Fugue). This was the original idea behind the Scorched Earth and Feral Steel folders, though there's room for crossover. Suggestions always welcome here!

aah. Aren't they trying to replace tanks now? A while back I heard that tanks were obsolete.
Suggestions?
Well...I dunno that much about military vehicles. I recognize them and I know the basics when I see them but I dno't have a detailed knowledge. What would be cool, however, is an MRAP that doesn't roll over on rough terrain.

I've heard the same about tanks a lot. In the future we're more likely to see smaller, more mobile systems - strike aircraft already outperform tanks in a lot of their old roles and robots could do more again.
A stable MRAP's a real holy grail right now, given the new focus on small-scale, counter-insurgency warfare. I'll leave that one to the experts, though anti-mine technology makes for some pretty interesting reading. You've probably seen mine flails; for a truly bizarre approach check out the Alkett Minenraumer! strangevehicles.greyfalcon.us/β¦

I don't like the fact that robots are more prominent, because I can already tell what the next step in warfare is.
It will escalate like this.
1. More controllable craft that can tell between friendlies and terrorists so we don't depopulate the Middle East so much.
2. More AI.
3. Hackers turning our army of flying death robots of doom against us.
4. The development of actual AI to annihilate the risk of hacking.
5. Finding how how wasteful and polluting it is to create these machines and return to using soldiers.
...WWII machinery is the greatest.
I think my favorite oddity of WWII was the pigeon-guided bomb. If computer technology hadn't developed, we would be using pigeons right now.
PIGEONS.
And not only that, if the Manhattan Project hadn't been a success, Project X-Ray would have gone through and we would have had...the Bat Bomb.
I find some of the WWII weapons developments hilarious.
