CHOW #176 - Venetian MasqueradeSqueezing in some time for me painting in and around all the stuff I still can't show you yet. This was a Venetian Masquerade ball topic, plus it had to be a self portrait (literally and in terms of subject matter). So I decided I like Alice in Wonderland and the Marie Antoinette style clothes, and ran with it. I won this round, too, just in time for my birthday.

What a gorgeous design, and I love the way you illustrate fabric! The cloak has the heaviness and plush of a crushed velvet, the skirt looks like polished cotton, and the sleeves hang like a light chiffon. I can certainly see why you won, your attention to detail and physics is incredible.

Love this look and the cape reminds me of little red riding hood. Very fairytale, if she was going to a ball she would be sure to pick up a handsome prince.

I love Alice in Wonderland but don't always love the art other people do with it in mind. I really like this though.

The rabbit is because the piece is based on Alice in Wonderland, so Alice is masquerading as the rabbit, etc.
