Description
Because I believe in hands-on learning for beginners, this file does not contain a .ASL filetype. Rather it's a full .PSD with the LayerStyles on their own layer. I will not update this to include one. Please do feel free to save them yourself in any manner you see fit.This resource is Royalty Free.
You're welcome to use the styles in any way you see fit, for any project commercial or otherwise... with the exceptions of selling these styles as styles, and implying directly or indirectly that you are the creator of these styles. I would appreciate it immensely if you respected the philanthropy of this contribution to other artists, as well as my goal to reach as many people as I can to help them grow.

As long as all of the included files are fully intact, and unaltered, you're welcome to redistribute this on your website or blog without my permission. However...
(I'm disappointed I even have to write this) It's quite distasteful when I see people remove my name/address and redistribute my resources. It's not glory or prestige I want---it's that I can't help a single soul if they don't know where to find me, and they can't find me when you modify/alter my design name or web address. There's a certain level of etiquette I assume you to have when redistributing, and I will have the utmost respect for you if you upheld a moral ethic in your decisions.

The thng is, that some people only have Elements and cant make styles. That makes this useless.

Im new to photoshop, how do i save these as a texture? Ive noticed the file is PSD. Ive used gimp its alot different than photoshop cs6. Theres no tutorials on how to do this.

Hey there! Since you're just starting out, let me explain that these aren't just a single pattern, but a collection of effects brought together to achieve what you see. This is what's called a Layer Style. Applying the Layer Style will come with all of the effects you see on the swatches. As you're beginning, the easiest way would be to open my PSD file, right-click on the layer of the style you want, click "Copy Layer Style", then on the document you'd like to apply it to, right-click on that layer and click "Paste Layer Style". You'll see the style apply to that layer instantly. Please note that if what you're applying these to is larger or smaller than the swatches in my PSD, they may look a little funny.
You can edit every one of the options that was used to create them by Right-Clicking on the layer with the style and choosing "Blending Options". A dialog will pop-up, and you'll see a vertical list of items on the left of it. Any item in that list has a check-mark in the box, that is one effect that has been applied to make that style. If you uncheck that box, that effect will disappear. It will reappear if you re-check it. However, if you click on the title of that box (Gradient Overlay, for example) you'll see the dialog box change to all of the controls of that effect. It may look a little intimidating, but it's actually a lot of fun once you play with it.
You can find a lot of tutorials online if you google "how to make Photoshop Layer Styles". Hope that helps some - and don't be afraid to press buttons. It's the best way to learn!
