that just plain rocks, how do you darken the sky like that?

it was a mix of a light application of hdr/tone mapping, and little bit with curves. The shot was actually underexposed, and the tricky part was getting the foreground to light up !

What a great tree! Aren't you grateful to have your camera on you when you come across something like this?

I'm so glad, personally, that I started carrying my camera everywhere (at least never farther than my car).

Oddly enough, between the two I like this one. Yea, the b&w has the ethereal quality, but the colour version has a cool feeling with the blue tone of the image. I dig, weird I know.
If this double posts, sorry...f-ing DA server.

Thanks.. the color version was my minds eye when I saw it, so probably is more true to my intended expression the b/w was just for fun.. thanks man, always look forward to your reactions...

Self portrait...aww.. poor Jerry, heheh! we know you are tougher than that.... My issue is that the title and artist take 20% of the given DA! Scale the credit down dude and let the pic take the credit!

I like the other one best, maybe because the darkness, but the matted look makes this great, and the colors that blend all together, works very well!!! it's still amazing!!!

I'm still torn between the two... I do think the color has more immediate impact, but the b/w carries more of an ethereal quality... at least for now. in a week I'll probably change my mind.. thanks
