everyday when i wake up, i sign into deviantArt and i wonder why i do this. but when i look at extraordinary talents like you, with a jolt i remember my purpose: to be inspired and empowered by the outstanding creativity as you have demonstrated above. i don't like your painting just because of your skills, the way you employed colours and shapes to create this dynamic third dimension of realism, but the real reason why i think your work is a genius is the way you have conveyed the emotions, the way you have created this intimacy with the painting and the viewer.
those eyes make me feel guilty, sad even. yet i stare into their abysmal depths the way one would stare at a natural disaster, knowing the way their magnificence impact me. that is not to say that your painting is without its flaws. as vince lombardi once said " perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellece". I believe you have caught excellence, the flaws in this painting makes it all the more beautiful. and so I also believe, you have not just painted this but also breathed life into it!

I love the life and the intensity of the eyes bring especially with the light glints on the irises. The detailing on the eye is just amazing using different shades to have a realistic effect into it. This is very well done, indeed.
I love how you keep it realistic but abstract as well with the blending of the watercolours on this piece to function as subtle shadings and this really brings the realistic eyes out of the paper, with its naturalistic look as well as the natural shading around the eyes.
As I look into the eyes, I feel like I have delved into that person's world and her look suggests that she has either an intimate story or a secret to tell which is impacted by the glints of her eyes.
This is very well done, indeed. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Honestly your work is outstanding, especially this piece. When I look at this image, it makes me feel and wonder what are behind those brown eyes. It amazes me how you have captured so much emotion with only her eyes. You can tell that the woman in the image is gazing over at something painful or just lost in another world. I love how you added your own unique technique with all the colors and the white outlines. I have not seen any work like this. Great work and I hope you keep it up. I dont have any negative comments.

i adore the colors and the picture itself its very balanced and beautiful and the eyes are very intense. The eyes themselves are wonderful but if it were up to me i would have put more light in the eyes to me they somehow look sad even though you can tell she is smiling other than that i love them, now moving on to the page itself, i don't know what happened but the page is dirty the little specs draw the attention away from the colors and so does the paintbrush or tiny wood piece make sure you clean things up before you paint and also before you take the picture.

I really like this one. A LOT! I'm not a big fan of watercolors BUT I really like how you make things look with them. The color scheme is great (seems random and unique, but very, very, VERY fitting for this piece) and the details are absolutely wonderful may I add!!! I must say that the colors really make the eyes pop out as well. To add to that, I would like to say that the eyes are my favorite part of this piece. It looks so real. Great work on this! Keep up the really great work! -Bailey <3

This piece is simply gorgeous, the pastel like colors are perfect and I love how the eyes draw you in. The colors are almost surreal but the eyes stay a nice neutral shade of brown, it adds a mixed effect. Very gorgeous. I did spot a few tiny things that could have been worked on a little differently and it would have improved the piece slightly more. For once, the eyebrows.. they're a little bit bland. Of course now it's not the main point of the picture but they could have been touched up a little and had some detail added to them. Secondly, her left eye. (farthest away) It looks a little tapered to one side. Almost like it's been squished in a bit. Maybe taking a little extra time and rounding it better would have made for a different effect. And lastly, not a biggie either is that piece of wood or something at the bottom. I don't know why but it drew me away from the eyes and the picture and to it. Anyway, that's just me and my little bits. Overall though this is an astounding piece and I wouldn't mind having it hanging on my wall in my house. Lovely work, keep it up.

Thank you very much for this thoughtful feedback, you are right about things you have mentioned and I am happy you pointed it out so I wouldn't forget there is huge space to improve, eyebrows are still a mystery to me, trying to figure the exact direction of every hair sometimes distracts me from the final result, sadly. And nice observation, left eye slipped a little during sketching. As for the shot of this painting, my apologies, I originally intended this one being just a detail shot for original piece.

Hey there! So I have been seeing your amazing work for quite a while and thought of doing a critique. This particular painting is truly amazing. The colours are beautifuly combined together and even though I am not a friend of colourful patterns I must admit I especially like this. But what really makes this work of art brilliant is the eyes, of course. You have created a 3d dimension that almost makes them look like real eyes. I love the way they shine when you look at them. And what is actually strange is that it feels like they are always staring at you no matter from which angle you are looking. What also made an impression on me is the reddish colour under the eye. This somehow makes the image a kind of mysterious. Great job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

I've had this favorited for a long time - I've noticed that many other depictions of eyes kind of creep me out, but not this one. These eyes are definitely from a smiling or at least playful face. Thank you
