user lecarred touched on this as well -- the photo provokes contradictory feelings of isolation and company. i would add that in both cases there is hope, for they are isolated on a motorway of all places and their company is an intimate one. the male's embrace, together with his gaze over the road, gives me confidence in an improvement to their situation. i am left feeling optimistic.

wow, the photo does an amazing job capturing the sadness and isolation yet a feeling of warmth. Those feelings mix together and i'm not sure at the end what I'm feeling.

It's so... I have troubles explaining what I feel. I'll do it the long and annoying way: because there's no faces to be seen it makes it like it could be any of us in any city in the world. the sentence you wrote, that also suits almost everybody. It feels like something gigantic, a connection, something had to descrbe. I guess it's impossible to understand what I wanted to say, sorry. ^^'

How did you get those gorgeous white flecks on the image?!

It looks to me like they are street lights and other lights...but there;s a bokeh effect, since they're not in focus, so they make those cool glowy dots. The street looks wet too, giving more light reflections.
