Description Here is the character reference for my interpretation of Echidna's newborn son, Ladon, for Mythologies: Journey Through The Ancient World.

Note: Ladon's design is a mix of horned lizard, crocodile, elephant, and gecko. And those lumps on his neck would sprout extra heads as he grows older.

EDIT: Added a human silhouette to show off his size.

Oh Okay just trying to ask you some minor questions about some creatures I like but most of them are Gigantic Reptiles like Dragons, Dinosaurs and Godzilla.

Now I don't get it. How come there are Dragons in Greek mythology? I thought those were only found in Eastern cultures like the Asian and the Middle Ages as the classic ones with 4 legs and wings. Am I right?

HewyToonmore In reply to kevinobill [2019-07-25 23:46:52 +0000 UTC]

Nope, they're found in Greek mythology, too.

A lot...cuter than I expected the protector of the Golden apples...and only one head too. (I read the description don't worry XP)

HewyToonmore In reply to Shadow-DJ [2017-02-09 04:44:11 +0000 UTC]

How about his size? Pretty big for a newborn, eh?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadow-DJ In reply to HewyToonmore [2017-02-09 04:49:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I suspected he'd be big. He's supposed to keep Hercules back XP He needs to be big! XD

SO...does Echidna lay eggs or is she like mammal? Because...yak now...(motions to the wide plethera of kids and compares it to the parents) I do not understand Greek Monster genetics.

HewyToonmore In reply to Shadow-DJ [2017-02-09 05:04:52 +0000 UTC]

I think she lays eggs for avian, fish or reptilian babies, and live birth for mammals.

Shadow-DJ In reply to HewyToonmore [2017-02-09 05:09:18 +0000 UTC]

Okay That makes about as much sense as anything in Greek Mythology XP

I think the norse at least got some sense to it (Loki is a shapeshifter and somehow gains birth to lady-Two face-I mean Hel, A giant wolf, a demon sea snake and an 8-legged horse)

Huh, I imagined him a bit more fat and his body wasΒ lower like a crocodile but other than that, he looks good. Can't wait to see him when he's full grown.

Out of curiosity, is Landon an established mythological creature, or is he an original one you came up with?

Regardless, I like the design; he looks like a cross between a dragon and a leopard gecko.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Shadow-DJ In reply to Randoman92 [2017-02-09 04:41:12 +0000 UTC]

He's the protector of Hera's Garden and basically the pet of Atlas' daughters. Whom Heracles tricks him to steal from and then later makes himhold back up the sky.

This little Greek Mythology fact is brought to you by the letter "Ξ©"

Ladon, huh? Cool. He looks as cute as i'm sure he is also dangerous. After all: to my knowledge, no child of Echidna has ever been known to be harmless.
