Little gift for Ricefish , since they gave me some watercolour papers to try! This one was fabriano paper, have to say it was super nice to work with, it has a lovely texture for being smooth!On another note, my goodness, the feathers on this guy! He's such a pretty dragon though so i totally didn't mind spending ages on them! c:

What type of Fabriano paper did you use, I used some for my A level etchings YEARS ago and I have been meaning to try some more :V

I think it was fabriano Artistico hot press 300 gsm paper? It's super nice stuff!
It's relatively thinner than the 300 gsm paper I've been using and it stays A LOAD more flatter,
but i don't think there's a watercolour paper that doesn't completely warp when used! :'D

HAAARE, AHHHHH, my big dumb featherball! I love those dusky reds! It's actually super interesting seeing you do his colours 'cause I struggled so much with them myself, like with his feathers I was just, what colour even IS this :'D Ahhh I love muted reds and purples. Look at his scaaaales! The tea! He's like a proper English gentleman now! Such a lovely serene face. I love that your signature details are in there! It's so nice that you got his hands into the picture too 'cause I'm keen on the foxy look of red dragons with black legs and this really shows it off!
The fabric sky maaaan I am all about those cute storybook vibes. THE COLOURS. They really show off his cute blue ear!

Haha Ahhh thank you you and you're welcome my dude! You have no idea how long the feathers took, especially since i totally struggle with reds!
I was just making sure he stayed fluffed up though, such a pretty boy!
Drawing dragons drinking tea out of teacups is my one weakness and i simply couldn't resist! :'D
His hands were the funnest part, especially figuring out how he'd hold a cup haha!
It's totally no problem, it was super fun cracking the dust off my reds, thank you for giving me the paper to try!

Ah yeah, reds (and some mid/dark browns) are the hardest to colour well AND the hardest to scan right, in my experience! But red/blue and brown/blue are my fav combos ahhh. At least blue is the easiest! It's weird, like blue/purple is so easy to keep vibrant but red, brown and oh yeah, sometimes pink can just feel like they go grey outta nowhere?

Ahhh yeah, reds are probably the most frustrating to colour and scan,
ah man blue and brown is super nice! Has a weird sort of colour combo that just looks super good!
Totally give me blue and purples over red any day!
