Description Spring comes
Nameless mountain
Light hazed
~Basho
An attempt at traditional style Chinese/Japanese painting....it was an ok attempt I guess

The original idea isn't mine, it came from the book that came with the brushes and ink, though there are a few little changes here and there.

Anyways, hope you like it, comments/critiques are always welcomed

Thanks so much! I feel more encouraged to try again, now!

I usually use traditional water colors since I'm a tad more acquainted with them, but every once in a while something will re-spark my interest in the art of calligraphy. I actually really enjoyed my time working on it, and when summer comes around, I hope to do more. Hopefully it will impress my soon-to-be host parents in Japan lol

Very well done. I enjoy this picture a lot. It was actually Japanese water colors that even interested me in the medium in the first place. I still have yet been able to reproduce it with any success however.
