Hi there,
In order for the .PNG free download to work, you must be using a programme that isn't MS Paint. Unfortunately this reference sheet is not compatible with it, nor just using the 'fill' tool. I could be explaining something you already understand (so please bare with!

You can use the free .PNG by just pressing download on the right hand side bar! No need to purchase, unless you want access to individual layers etc. in Photoshop.

"free reference sheet" *is actually not free because at the side its 20 points*

As I'veΒ explainedΒ in previous comments: theΒ lineartΒ is free to use on the basis that the .png is readily available in the image and on the right-hand side under the 'download' button. Premium content is something you pay extra for- in this case, it is forΒ theΒ .PDF version for anyone who wishes to access the different layers (as detailed in the description of this submitted artwork).

It's free in the respect you can use the flat design.
