Description Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen

In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is

Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in

Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in

Lost Carcosa.

—"Cassilda's Song" in The King in Yellow Act 1, Scene 2

Mixed media photocopy collage. 11"x17"

Whoa... the King in Yellow! Fun! Great work, nice surreal feel. The colors really lend to it.

awesome work

something about the front image feels incomplete tho... needs more depth on it and more shading to insert it/assimilate into the rest... just my subjective (annoying) crit.

Yeah, I see what you're saying, but believe it or not, that was intentional on my part. I wanted to reflect the dreamlike, insubstantial nature of the King In Yellow, like here for example. [link]

But I guess I could have done it in a more successful way.

I have such an affinity for the surreal. And this collage melds beautifully with the art. Almost indistinguishable.
