Description
Ballpoint and fountain pen on canson paper...Studies for my much bigger mixed media entry for the upcoming Philippine Art awards, hosted by the Phillip morris group of companies...
The final work will be done on acrylic textured mattboard and will be executed in ballpoint pen, ink, and acrylic....

this pic reminds me of one of my favourite books in greek which is "pope johanna" written by rhoedes (a greek writer).. it talks about corruption of high ranked members of the church... I think rhoedes had been cursed for his book but his works are excellent

This is quite striking. The texture and its composition complement each other in my opinion. I can't wait for the final piece. I hope you'll be posting it on DA.
I admire your courage in submitting a piece with such subject matter in the Philippines. It would be interesting to hear about the people's reactions.

( a tiny advice : the idea of leaving all that white around the two figures is GREAT, I hope you'll leave it so

the drawing/mixed media is done on gessoed, textured, mattboard approximately 3.5 x 3 feet...It will be done in ballpoint, fountainm pen, black and white acrylic and ink...I decided to retain the monotonous color so as to achieve the same sense as that of my previuos pope paintings...
The concept is this:
Two devout catholics, one an old lady, and the other a half naked young man(a male prostitute, with a rosary on his neck), prays in front of an altar as if they worship an engraving of a phillipine money(symbolising that they worship money), over the altar hangs a painting showing the pope and his nunwhore,at the back of them a a priest kissing a naked man, while a nun whose naked body is ravished by another priest, and they are being flanked by nuns all over...the background of the pope are hanged martyrs of christ, and handmade idols from everypart of the world...I like to call it as a form of visual irony...the two worshippers worshipping the money and the image of the pope is in complete opposition, a blasphemy to the true teachings of the bible...They are the children of disobedience...The great whore is the pope, the money is his buying power...the money and all carnal pleasures remained a normal part of the so called holy catholic church!!!

im a bit partial before i decided that i must stand for my beliefs...no matter how harsh people would react to it, whaT MATTER IS THAT I HAVE THE COURAGE TO SUPPORT IT...AND WITH ALL YOUR SUPPORT BEHIND ME, I SHALL FACE THEM ALL...YES, IT WONT BE TOO CROWDED...THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK OF THE POPE WILL BE RENDERED AS IF THEY WERE APPARITIONS SO THAT MORE EMPHASIS ARE PUT IN THE MIDDLE, THAT IS THE POPE AS THE CENTRAL THEME...THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE...I SHALL REMEMBER THAT ALWAYS...

It is the central part of my bigger drawing, the one im going to entry in the september Philippine art awards...i hope i dont get hanged by the inquisition or burned at the stake as i portray the degenerate faith of the catholics, which over here comprises 70 percent of the population...Wish me luck on my journey my friend!!!thank you
