Official Calendar Comment:
The Callathites, or sea horses, are in fact a particularly organized group of water sprites. Sometimes they are mere manifestations, but at other times they can control the wind and weather over the sea with downright terrifying power. They break down into White Callathites (the wave riders, and probably the best known of the bunch), Blue Callathites (most often seen in the open ocean on clear calm days when your water is almost out and everyone is starvin —afterwards you will get a favorable wind and put the vision down to heat induced hallucinations), and finally Dark Callathites (the storm bringers, usually hang out around dangerous shores and whip up terrible winds—incidentally, the best ones to paint).

Orginal size 8" x 11" on paper board, mixed media colored pencils and watercolor. This one was a lot of fun, despite worrying myself sick over the water. I'm especially happy with how the Callathite in the foreground came out.
