This should get an update with the new hostile mobs! I know a Phantom and the Wither would fit perfectly in there, and a Drowned / Husk / Stray / Wither Skeleton would be neat. If thereβs a Ghast, why not a Blaze? If thereβs an Enderman, why not the Dragon? Slimes? Magma cubes?

Well I've been using this as my PC wallpaper for years now. I got it off Google images and I use it as my Facebook wallpaper also but for Halloween I switch them both to something more fitting the season. Did you create this?

This has got to be the defining picture of Minecraft. When someone tells me that Minecraft is a kid's game, I point them to this picture.
Wait a second...is...is that a STICK in the player's hand? Is this player trying to fend the monsters off with a STICK? That just increased the sense of desperation emnating from this picture by tenfold. :/
I can imagine that the player was returning from a long and successful caving expedition, with a backpack full of diamonds and other valuable treasures. It is late evening, and the player navigates by one of the many giant Nether Portals that they had previously built, on their way home. Some Zombie Pigmen are wandering aimlessly around the Nether Portal, and all seems quiet and peaceful. Then, the Ghast drifts out of the Portal, and begins firing. The player casually deflects the Ghast Fireball...into one of the Zombie Pigmen. With a scream of rage, the pigmen charge at the player, and in a panic, the player drops their sword and sprints away. The player's problems are just beginning, as it is now fully nighttime, and the monsters are crawling out of their caves. Batting away zombies and spiders that get too close with the first thing that is at hand--a stick--the player runs as far and as fast as possible. Tiring quickly, char finally stops at the edge of a ravine, and turns to face the horde of monsters that have assembled. After a valiant defense, during which a wolf is struck, the player is brought down by a Spider Jockey, and attempts to crawl away. All hope is lost when the player looks up into the enraged visage of an Enderman. But the last thing the player hears is a quiet hsssssssssss...
