Description
Most of the time we don't show our real face, we hide behind a mask and create a facade, we don't want the world seeing our real face ... our soul... Behind our masks, we are hidden and protected until we're ready to show our true selves ... The greatest gift is to expose our souls, humble in our nakedness and be loved as we are ...thanks to *natashalyonne

this is a feast for mine eyes. I love the composition, the idea behind it, the richness of the reds throughout. very very lovely.

The red balloon has been proven through time to stir a kind of fascination... like it could almost be the possessor magical properties. There was a movie "red balloon"... and a song by nena (then a cover by goldfinger). Hmmm... and obviously your success is no exception to the phenomenon

nice. so true, loving it but.. (i can't help but express my opinion/thoughts)
the greatest gift is also the scariest. you can't take being revealed (s/p is wrong i think) cannot be taken back. to be exposed, naked, open to all abuse, critizim. what could be scarier. such a thing could kill one's soul. to be told that what, who, everything you are is wrong is the worst punishment, the worst scar. that is why, i believe, so many people hide within a mask.
wow you made me really think.
thank you. amazing message, picture.

Brilliant. I just love the trash scattered about her. Might I suggest you remove that Artist's Comment? It's rather suggestive, no? It's up to you, but I think this would be even better if I could sit here and think about everything you laid out.
Anyway, great photo. Love the red dress + red balloon, and the setting is just fantastic.

Above and beyond this is my absolute favourite series from you so I am always more than happy to see you submit another piece from it (even though I am very late in commenting on it).
Again you've managed to capture her in such brilliant lighting which absolutely makes this piece. The idea of the red balloon obstructing her face from the viewer is very intriguing, and one would almost expect it to weaken the piece but it does exactly the opposite.
And thank you for still using film, I think that always pushes photographers a lot further than digital, forces them to be much more selective and careful when shooting.
A phenomenal piece.

this is beautiful...the light creates a wonderful leading line...the graffiti and bits of trash pattern the color of her dress and of the balloon...and my favorite...the shadow of what could be a face on the balloon. this is pure magic.
what a beautiful, serene and almost surreal effect.

I love so much this shot. Because it is not usual. You're far away from all these people shooting nice girls in trashy environments "just because it's in", or for the nice contrast between a pretty face and a sad wall. Here everything gets well together. I don't even ask myself, as I usually do "what does she do here, why does she have high heels in such a place".... the light enhances the surroundings, and they are at the same time ugly and beautiful, just like your idea. She is not excessively well dressed, just like any next-door-girl, and the balloon she uses as a mask, with this dress, gives a feeling of countryside, youth and innocence.
