Wow, we've got some serious ego clashing going on here... Anyway, I think that the piece looks pretty badass myself and I especially love the aurora.
If I were to give any advice at all, I would say that Perhaps the ring could use a little more coloration. If you look at this image "[link] " the rings aren't completely black and white. Also, Saturn isn't shaped like a perfect circle. One of the things that Saturn is pretty well known for is the flatness of it's poles and how "squished" the planet seems to look in appearance. This process is caused by the rotation (or spinning) of the planet, which in turn creates centrifugal force; and since Saturn is a gas giant the squishing is more pronounced because of this.
However, I do understand when scientific accuracy becomes more of a burden than a helpful asset. Just because I can pick out all of the little inaccuracies doesn't detract from how awesome I think the image is.
Great job overall!

lol i suppose you read the conversation above ?
well it isnt perfect sphere, but yes it isnt as flat as in reality either... but you are right about rings i had the color map, but i forgot to apply it, and when i realized it, i was too lazy to repair it ... but there are more irregularities, the color of aurora, position of moons, overall colors ... i didnt want to be completly limited by reality, but i did want to make it with realistic feeling, not like qaz haha, but anyway i am really glad you like it, and thanks a lot for you comment

No problem! I wouldn't put all that much stock into what Qaz was saying anyway. Apparently he blocked me for giving him some advice on how to improve one of his pieces not too long ago.
Unless "Deviously Denied" means something else that I am totally unaware of.

yea well ... he doesnt take any advice, because ,,thats exactly how i wanted to make it !!!" and besides he hide every comment that suggest he should make it just a tiny bit different or that he doesnt like it at 110% ...

Inspired by yours: [link]
I thought since I usually make Saturn wallpapers and totally by my own style I shouldn't mention u but since mine has a little similar colors then yes I thought I should give U a credit..

yes i though making saturn it would be big coincidence after that short time after mine i would normally point all those irregularities, but i think you even didnt want to make it realistic did you ?

QAuZ In reply to GabrielGajdos [2013-01-22 14:11:56 +0000 UTC]
Lol C'mon I would do better if I tried making it realistic I don't do that cuz would be hard for my way of making it and I just have a quick look at it then I make it by my version! I just like achieving the look that would remind you of it... Like R3V4N made a heck of a version [link] but you guys always don't make it as wide as the real one...

GabrielGajdos In reply to QAuZ [2013-01-22 19:11:51 +0000 UTC]
well friend, sorry but you made it absolutely irregular to reality and you are pointing us that it isnt as wide as the real one, are you serious ? man i suggest you to tame your ego

QAuZ In reply to GabrielGajdos [2013-01-23 10:35:04 +0000 UTC]
Hehehe I'm fine about how it looks! It means I was never interested in making it realistic so I'm guessing this would be out from you thinking all Saturn planets should be around the realism and yes yours isn't wide as the real one because rly if you haven't noticed the real one is pretty wide... And I think 've never seen someone make it wider then even the regular widness. Plus you should never judge on my Saturn planets cuz they're made kinda quick like less then a half day and also by photoshop

Hehehe that's me in general I make stuff quickly and very often I keep working on it for more than let's say a day! So youre saying I wouldn't achieve close to the real one anyway, whether I gvae it enough time or not? Lol I would make just like it is not a big deal!

Well there's been a few fingers being pointed at the aurora, I would say maybe it's too saturated and bright. The actual shape and form of it is very like the photo's of it I've seen. The aurora isn't "done poorly", I just think its too "blue" (it looks that way in the photos because they use special filters I think that make certain features stand out more) In real life I would imagine it being more de-saturated and maybe closer to aqua
Saturn itself is done great though! Maybe the shadow on the rings could be a little softer for artistic reasons (I know its sharp in real life, but funnily enough it always looks "artificial" in 3D renders). Even if the transition was just a few pixels wide (some could probably say that there would be a very slight blurring of the shadow Saturn casts on its rings due to its atmosphere perhaps )

i took your advice and kind of blend that aurora more, i made it not that visible... even though i think we are not used to that kind of pictures of aurora and we think it look strange though i think also it isnt perfect, just not that bad you know
i thought you will point that in real life colors would be different, and those moons would not be there btw i like you comments you always write a lot
thank you

It does look a little more natural now. That's kinda the challenge when doing real images of the real planets, you don't have as much creative freedom as you do with fictional ones. But I like seeing them from time to time, they remind me of the animations usually used to demonstrate stuff in documentaries about space

I like the aurora because this actually occurs, and something real being abnormal or unbelievable tends to be awesome, and i think this is awesome, nice work

Trivia incoming! Nasa's shots of Saturns auroras are shot using ultraviolet, so they appear blue in photos, but in reality, the auroras are vibrant red! Really awesome piece by the way!

In regards to the aurora, it is in fact quite similar to the images you mention (of Jupiter's aurora) so kudos there. But with that said, I don't think it works too well on an artistic level, so would be nice to see you have another tackle at the concept without being to constrained by aping the NASA photos. All in all a decent piece of work.

i know what you mean, and you are right, but i am very limited in the way to create nice aurora so i inspired myself with the nasa shots... anyway i think i will spent a little more extra time on the aurora. thank you

sincerely, the thing I like less is the aurora the rest of the picture is perfect.
I've also tried to make auroras with not very good results, I think you can make one even better ;D
it doesn't mean that the aurora is bad but it should be at the same level as the rest of the picture.
