FunFactβ’: It actually more difficult to read uppercase words than lowercase ones. This is because our brain can read words much faster based on the shape of the word. When you type in all uppercase letters, it forces is to read each individual letter and therefore takes a lot longer to read. This is the reason that roadsigns are written in lowercase words, it minimises the time that a driver spends not looking at the road.

This is a direct quote taken from an article about the psychology behind roadsigns. The only signs I know of that are still written in all uppercase (In the UK at least) are things like STOP signs. In this case, the word doesn't matter as much as the reaction it causes. You would recognise a big red sign faster than you would recognise the word "Stop".
