For such a simple subject as a single flower, it's a strikingly beautiful picture! The photograph has great, if not ideal focus and depth of detail. The composition of the picture gives just the right amount of focus to the subject at hand, filling the space of the page but still leaving the background visible. The most remarkable feature of this picture I would say, is the colour: There is a lovely contrast between the cool, silky white of the petals and the deep, warm red-brown-black of the stamens and background. The difference in texture between these same features adds to the intrigue of the picture.

For something you call 'Nearly Perfect', this is BEYOND perfect!
I don't know what camera you use, but the quality looks almost professional and it was taken at a good angle.
The colors work great together too. The reds and browns of the flower center go beautifully with the dark mahogany of the background, against which the whites and greys of the flower pops out nicely.
The picture itself has a nice feeling about it. Very mysterious and romantic but also a bit fairytale-isque. I can see this on the front of a romantic songs CD cover or a Valentine's Day card.
