okay. so i'm probably the billionth and sixth person to be amazed at this gorgeous shot.
but i'll put some feedback in anyway.

it DOES feel like a memory, as previous people have said. it feels so real, even though i have curtains not blinds, nor have a deciduous tree outside any of my windows. but this is just amazing. when i have the money, which may sound like an empty promise, but it isn't, really, i will buy this. and i just realised it's not listed as a print, so now i will request it and hope for the best.

thank you so much for this. it is so amazingly gorgeous, beautiful, inspiring and filled with emotion.

When I saw the title "rain light" I thought instantly of a song by the (now defunct) band Mortal, titled the same. I now have the song playing in my head, and it fits beautifully with your image. Lovely, lovely capture.

This has such a feel... such an emotion to it that I haven't seen in any other photograph before. It's beautiful.
Your art created feelings inside me. Feelings that I've forgotten about. Good feelings. And, if you ask me, that's what art is all about.
Wonderful job.
And, thank you.

Hard to describe. So, I will second what somenlitenfisk said. It's the mood, brings this nostalgia feeling. It's like when you start to recall some memory from the time you were just a little kid - an image not so clear while vivid in other senses and feelings.

Love it.

I, like most of the other poeple who have commented on this, am completely lost for words. This photo seems to have some memory in it, like I was there but I can't really remember anything about being there apart from the feeling. It also reminds me of my grandma, and it makes me miss her.
Good job, and you really deserve the DD.

THis is quite interesting. I'm looking at this thinking, "What's that sexy looking tree doing outside?" Ahem. Yes, that's my take on it. Alluring.

BatmanWithBunnyEars [2009-12-20 00:31:29 +0000 UTC]

This does bring about the cozy feeling of eing in a niec warm house during a dreary, rainy day. I'd like to see less symmetry than having the tree right in the middle between the curtains, though. This could be achieved by taking the photo froma slightly different angle of moving the curtains. Still a nice shot though!

It's a very simple yet beautiful piece. And I'm pretty sure my Yiayia has the same curtains...

ClockworkAngelx [2009-12-19 23:19:58 +0000 UTC]

Exquisite shot, the curtains really frame the tree perfectly. The light from above almost makes it seem like the tree is reaching up to the heavens.

Probably Im missing the special, sensitive eye, for me its just a picture and not even a very catching or good one and I really stared at it for a while.
But for someone it was a special one and that is what we artists living for- to fascinate humans with our work, gratz to your dd

I agree with other comments that there is a tension in this shot that is almost puzzling. Maybe it is something to do with the contrast between the dark interior and the exterior where a tiny sliver of sky is almost a blasted out white? Or perhaps the striking and unusual/atypical composition? I feel like I want to see more detail in the interior foreground, and yet that seems to be the hidden message conveyed by the image as a whole.

I agree this deserves more comments, yet I can understand the difficulty many might have in trying to say something useful or appropriately appreciative, since I had this trouble myself in trying to identify what drew me to the image.

I can't pin what exactly it is about this photograph that captures my attention and keeps it for so long.

Although, for some reason.. I'm getting this sinister, brooding vibe that's incredibly addicting all at the same time.

Wonderful job. Why does this not have more comments?

What a pity there are no featurer's arguments for giving DD title as they often persuade me that a Deviation deserves DD title.

beautiful.
this image resonates very strongly.
i believe i saw the word 'nostalgia' used amongst the comments here.
i would agree with that...but, there's something more...and i don't want to sound morose - but, this image has the kind of presence about it that makes me think: this is what i'll see when i die. don't take that the wrong way - it's more of a transcendent piece - this image could take you somewhere else...as a gateway to another world.
