The Eurasian lynx - enjoying a winter day. The supervisor of my masterproject and artwork project at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA - www.nina.no ) talked about 'changing the attitude of people towards large carnivores' . Especially local farmers see predators often just a murdermachine...but in fact also carnivores are complete animals with feelings and 'a life'. So when he talked about it I got the idea to show another side of the lynx than only a predator.Based on a photo I had of my cat Jayto, I got the idea of a lynx sniffing up the fresh winter air and enjoying the snow. Actually much like me
Done with photoshop CS2 and Wacom tablet in few hours - dunno, usually such projects take approx. 8 hours.

Mentioning those sorts of things is a war in my mind over balancing nitpicking, and apathy. Maybe I'm the first one to see it, the first to say anything.. or maybe they've heard it a dozen times already, and I'm just being a nuisance now.

Gorgeous work - love how dense the fur looks, and the tranquil serenity of the lynx's expression, and the blurred bg really makes the snow look like it's swirling in the wind - another beautiful piece!

Haha, I hate summer so much - during summer I can't wait for it to get cold again, I can't stand warm weather - well, I count "unpleasantly warm" as being 15oC.
