Yep. Both protections against AI scraping. Sadly it's necessary

Hi!  I’m here from with some constructive criticism.

First of all, I love what you’ve done with this piece.  It looks like the girl is about to take off alongside the birds.  I think the best way to make an image look alive is by conveying movement, and you’ve done that perfectly here.  It’s clear that you’ve put a lot effort and care into combining your source photos, too; I would have never guessed that the face and the body are sourced from two different images if not for the list in the description.  Overall, I think you’ve done an excellent job!

That being said, I think there are a few issues with lighting and contrast.  The sky color looks very dark, which makes it hard to distinguish the dark edges of the feathers and the deep blue on the hang glider.  I know that your source image really is that dark, but I think lightening it would help make the upper left area easier to look at.  Similarly, the white birds don’t stand out very well against the white clouds.  I think it might help to flip image of the sky vertically, so the clouds are on the left side instead of the right.  However, I don’t have much experience with photomanipulation, so I’m not sure if that would make the lighting look too inconsistent.

I also think you could do more to make everything look truly immersed in the background.  For instance, you could add shadows on the ground beneath the two birds behind the girl.  In addition, it seems like there would more wind at such a high altitude, so I think the girl’s cloak should be billowing out further behind her.

Other than that, there really isn’t anything else I’d change.  Like I said before, I think this piece looks great!  I haven't seen many photomanipulation pieces around, but I think they're an interesting and creative medium.  Keep up the excellent work!

Thank you! Your critique is very practical and therefore useful. Especially the part about the white birds and about how there should be more wind, I think you're absolutely right. I actually kinda like that the sky is so dark but your criticism of that is valid as well. So thanks again, also for the praise. You're right btw, I haven't seen any other photomanipulators in this group, which is too bad for me because I'm better at critiquing an art form I have experience with myself.

what a powerful combination of different styles and things.

I like powerful colors in heaven and nature.

The chosen colors work harmoniously together

Thank you <3 Yes, I thought those highly saturated blues were important for the mood of the picture, glad you like them.

Hey, just in case someone from ProjectComment sees this photomanipulation and isn't sure whether it already has its 2 comments - no, it still needs one, the first was too short, so don't hesitate to comment, I'd love some more in-depth feedback

Hello there!

It's another one from ProjectComment and - of course - I am here to leave a constructive comment on your artwork.

Let's get this out of the way first, I noticed right away that your artwork is a photomanipulation and perhaps I can give you some tips to make it look 'less so'.

The one major issue I see is the overflow of colours: whites, blacks, blues, reds, greens, yellows, purples... the whole colour palette seems to be on your image and it feels like a a big cluster of different things meshed together, which is the main problem with photos in my opinion. Either you find material that exists about in the same lighting / environment or you use colour and contrast adjustments to give your entire piece a harmonic feeling. For example; the saturation of the flowers and grass on the left and the clouds in the background could have been desaturated to lay the main focus of it solely in the centre-foreground. The red straps holding the feathers on the glider could have been desaturated as well so the entire artwork gets a nice blue-orange balance.

Another, but minor flaw I often see in photo m. are the blurred textures. In a dynamic piece like this, the blur on the rocks to the bottom and cape are very effective, but this effect looks off when there is a field of crisp sharp flowers not affected by the dynamic motion blur. I suggest applying a filter to the parts that might distract from the focal point as well.

All that's remaining are just minor things that could be better with some tweaking or don't need to be tweaked at all:

The size of the birds could be smaller to have them flying in the background, the black spot of clouds could have been over-layered by another, white cloud so it doesn't look as distracting, the glider looks a good bit too modern for the setting and Emilia Clarke's face might be the most recognizable recourse for your piece.

But those things only divert from the good job you did with your piece. I admire how well in focus this figure's face looks like and the composition is spot-on. You achieved to make a charging pose look like someone is running and holding onto a glider. The colour and design of this character's clothes has been reworked and you didn't hesitate to bring own resources into the image to make it more unique-looking.

All in all, it is - despite some flaws which are far from impossible to work on - a very successful drawing when conveying a positive feeling and a good mood from the environment.

I hope you found this critique helpful!

Hi Your critique is definitely helpful and very thoughtful, thank you!
I actually don't mind my picture looking like a photomanipulation - it's its own art form and skill-set with its own strengths and weaknesses - I just don't want people to praise my images for something they're not (sometimes they compliment me for stuff that was simply a feature of the stock photos I used). You, on the other hand, actually went through the stock photo list, which really shows your commitment to writing a helpful critique, so thanks again!

Hi! I´m from

Well, this drawing or this photograph left me very shocking in a good way. It looks like an elaborate mega drawing and with legendary promotions, but if you look closely and with extreme caution, you can see that it is actually a photographic collage. And seeing the Sources, I definitely kill it to be a drawing.

The theme with this is how you have edited it: It is so well edited and so well chosen the images in the compositional position that automatically feels natural. Nothing feels out of place; All block and also, there are automatically multiple overlays of planes, which gives the edition many extra points. And more if it is seen that although they are images of different photographs, it has a single light bulb and uniform shading. Automatically the image becomes solid and becomes one, basically.

Looking at it in detail, I will be honest: I don't know why it has only one wing in perfect condition, but I can say that you visually showed me that it is possible to make multiple photo editions and make one naturally
P.D: Sorry for the delay of my comment =3

Thanks for your comment! Yes, people in the PC group often assume that I post hyper-realistic paintings because no one else seems to post photomanipulations I'm glad you realized what this image is and what it isn't.

Thank you for the praise, but what do you mean by "only one wing in perfect condition"? Do you mean that one wing doesn't look right? The one in front looks a bit blurry, that's true, I wanted to show a kind of motion blur. But if it doesn't look right, please tell me

Also, thanks for the watch!

Dear ProjectComment people who don't know the context to this - the character above is a winged elf by birth from the fantasy video game Baldur's Gate. She lost her wings under tragic circumstances and someone on tumblr imagined her going sky-gliding to experience flying again. That's really all there is to know, so don't be afraid to critique the image
