My version of that fable....Β A Cricket happily entertained the Worker Ants.

The ants were working on a dam, to provide enough water for them over a future summer. While other ants were busy stocking the pantry, those Dam workers looked like they were living in luxury. Many heard about the 'entertaining cricket' and resentment of the other ants led to the queen hearing only from those jealous workers about how unfair their work conditions were.

Winter came. The Cricket wanted to stay with his mates. The Queen decided there wasn't enough Food, Space or whatever and locked out the Cricket as winter crashed in. Feeling Betrayed, the Cricket struggled but was determined to wait out the winter.

Inside, the Dam ants realized their friend had been locked out. Orchestrated a "revolution of change" and overthrew the queen ( with aid of their enhanced strength from hard labor).

When the door Slowly opened, the new revolutionary ants opened the doors to the hopes of a new Summer... the Cricket burst the dam they had been working on and flooded the colony... drowning everyone inside.

Morale: Revenge is blind, and never forgets.
