Basics:

Kyubiyan is a small, omnivorous species, resembling a mix of feline and vulpine. This creature is one of many descendants of an unknown genetically engineered life form, created specifically to force evolution to adapt and survive in any environment they were to end up in.

Lore & History:

What was originally just a pet project became much more serious to their creators and their race as a whole after the arrival of an unknown life form that ended up assimilating and gradually turning their home world into a living planet.

With their interstellar travel not yet being perfected when the outbreak took place and no guarantee that they would survive even if they managed to escape their home world, they spent the time they had left on refining a very adaptive species consisting of 200 specimens to replace them in hope that at least one of them will evolve to carry on their legacy.

Out of 200 specimens, the first ancestor of Kyubiyan was 1 of the lucky 42 specimens that were successfully launched into space whilst the rest perished along with their creators as their home planet was fully consumed.

It’s unknown what the first ancestor of Kyubiyan looked like, only that they evolved into “Alpha Jivita” by the time they arrived on the planet they now call home.
