I've been working in oils a bit lately and wanted to utilize that same patience on an acrylic piece so I did this. It's about 5"x5" - acrylic and pencil on paper.Available for sale here: brandonkenney.bigcartel.com/

Simply beautiful. I love the colors you used in the hair! Do you have any techniques to doing skin and shadows? I am terrible at it, as I have not painted many things in my time, I would still love to know any tips for when I paint in the future. :3

Thank you for the kind words! As far as skin and shadows go it's all about colors and light. Skin isn't a flat shade, it is comprised of hundreds of different tones and values, to get a realistic look it's important not to neglect all that variety. There are often a lot of greens, grays, purples, yellows, reds, and blues that are important to capturing a believable skintone. The most important thing is to experiment and try new things. Art is a never ending learning experience.
