Goddess of highness and honor, goddess of love and beauty. Goddess of happiness, Goddess Beautiful in Tears, Leader of all Valkyries, Sister of Freyr, Bringer of magic, prophecy and wealth, daughter of Njoror, a born Vanir, falcon winged, leader of the Wild Hunt.In Norse mythology, Freyja (Old Norse the "Lady") is a goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, gold, arts, war, and death. Freyja is the owner of the necklace Brísingamen, rides a chariot driven by two cats, owns the boar Hildisvíni and possesses a cloak of falcon feathers. Along with her brother Freyr she is a member of the Vanir.
Freyja rules over her heavenly afterlife field Fólkvangr and there receives half of those that die in battle, whereas the other half go to the god Odin's hall, Valhalla. Within Fólkvangr is her hall, Sessrúmnir. Freyja assists other deities by allowing them to use her feathered cloak, is invoked in matters of fertility and love, and is frequently sought after by powerful jötnar who wish to make her their wife. Freyja has numerous names, including Gefn, Valfreyja, and Vanadís.

Oh pieces I read here and there from books I find in the libraries or at my dad's place my dad's family is Swedish so they keep up pretty good with the legends, but it's just people say that Freya is a Valkyrie a lot of the times and it annoys me because she was just there guide.

I agree with you, Freya is not a Valkyrie, she is a Goddess. Her roots go back so far, she even is one of the oldest of the ancient goddesses of the North.
But it is also said that she was leading the Valkyries as she was leading the other deities.
Half of the heroes who died in battle where brought to her garden Folkvangr. So she must have been related to the Valkyries, just as Odin was. This aspect of Freyja however, may be from a much younger period in history and is strongly influence by the war clans.
Her aspects of wisdom, love, beauty and magic are much older and might as well be the roots of her characterization.

Well most texts I read she is the goddess f fertility and is only second to Odin, but for the relation of Odin and the Valkyries he is their father. Also most texts seem to play on the idea of Freya being in love with Odin it could be possible that she was a paramore or mistress as it we're certainly other gods and goddess's have indulged in such things.

while the picture is brilliant, her expression is quite set, almost as though she is trying not to let emotion show.
I have this problem myself sometimes too but there it is,

Hey, any critique is welcome always, no exceptions. Thank you for liking my image of Freya. As to the emotion, it is indeed intended in that particular case. Be invited to go to my other images and have a look at the expressions there and you will see. Freya is know for keeping emotions in, she is said to have had great knowledge but didn`t like to share it.

That is an amazing rendition of Freya...my only critique is she does not have Brisingamen...but I am a jeweler so what do you expect
