Description
An image I did around Christmas for the MLP Arena Twelve Days of Christmas contest -which I lost. Still, it was fun to work on.It features G1 Paradise and G3 Snowelle, the pegasus. The idea I had while sketching and coloring this was that Snowelle was an orphaned foal find by the other ponies and was adopted by Paradise. Most other ponies were against the idea at first. Paradise tends to take her responsibilities too lightly, enjoys fairy tales and adventures too much and isn't exactly responsible enough for caring for an orphaned foal. Well, as it turns out she and Snowelle did quite well. Snowelle was old enough to eat solid foods and was quite independent and loved adventures and stories as much as Paradise. She also had a strange affinity with swans, much more so than most pegasi.
Sooo... yeah. There it is. The first and ONLY colored image I've done in months. The rest of the time I'm just sketching because it's all the mental energy I have.
Still I loved working on this. The only things I hate are the grass and the background.... and the way it looks when it's scanned in. Totally ruins the image. T.T
Ah well....

Struggling really bad. Down to one part time job, always in the negative financially.... I'm starting to have sleepless nights. I do a lot of sketching too but I don't feel like I can mentally handle doing full color images right now. :,(

And yes, I imagine that it is. They are swimming in a lake in the middle of winter. Maybe pegasi have a special knack at evading the cold?

This is lovely! Really nice work with all the swans (love the one that is sitting on Snowelle's head) and I really like how the ponies hair float in the water

I had to remember to make their hair float. It's too light to actually just sink. Even if they were underwater it'd be swirling all over them.
I kinda like the one on Snowelle's head too. Kind of a bit of a goof! XD
