The Enchanted Wood is part of the series The Magic Faraway Tree Collection and is based on my favourite childhood books by Enid Blyton. The artworks depict the fantasy folk that wove their magic stories through my early life such as Silky and Moonface

In this piece getting the squirrel fluffy was particularly challenging. It is also my first attempt at painting hair with a mouse.
Oh how I long for a Wacom tablet.

I dedicate The Enchanted Wood to the model, sweet little Aussie Anna. [link]

Anna will feature throughout this series of works as the youngest child in the Blyton books Franny. The name was changed in recent reprints of the novel from the original character name of Fanny (for obvious reasons).
